Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest peak on the African continent and the tallest free standing mountain in the world. It rises in breathtaking isolation from the surrounding coastal scrubland with an elevation ranging from around 900 metres to an imperious 5,895 meters (19,336ft).

Kilimanjaro is one of the world’s most reachable high summits. Most visitors will reach the crater rim with little more than a walking stick, proper clothing and determination. And those who reach Uhuru Point, the actual summit, or Gilman’s point on the lip of the crater, will have earned their climbing certificates.

Our 9 days 8 nights trip to Tanzania, to climb Mt Kilimanjaro will fascinate you at every level.

CHADAR TREK BY LAFL

Life Away From Life yet again manages to give their participants an awesome experience of the frozen river trek in Ladakh – THE WORLD FAMOUS CHADAR TREK on 26th Jan 2016.

Trekking in the Chadar trek  with the right frame of mind and good facilities makes the chadar trek more interesting and keeps the mind fresh.

The team did well during the chadar trek  to survive the treacherous minus 30 deg celcius in the nights. The Extra two days before the Chadar  trek worked well to get acclimatize to the  high altitude of Ladakh as well as the cold factor.
These extra days are trademark planning of Life Away from Life in all their treks.

The Chadar trek started late cause of the melting condition of the river. The global warming effect was clearly seen in the snow conditions of this region.
The first day walk was short but exciting. We had to leave the Chadar trek route and climb mountains at times.

Our guide Mr Dorje and his team were locales of this area and had done this Chadar Trek a lot o f times.Great food made our tiredness lesser. This is another trademark of Life Away From Life trips- Great food !!

The second day was much more interesting where we had to walk almost for 5 hours on thick sheet of Ice to reach our next camp site.
There were slippery moments and some really awesome moments. The Chadar trek kept us spell bound.

The highlight of this day was it was 26th January , our Republic Day , and we celebrated it with Pizzas and Momos.

The Chadar Trek is one of the most exciting experiences which everyone must do it at least once in their lifetime.

the video gives you a feel of what the team experienced.
