Valley of Flowers – LAFL’s Signature Parent & Child Trek
The Valley of Flowers trek is one of LAFL’s most loved adventures in the Uttarakhand Himalayas — perfect for families looking to explore nature together.
Located at 3,800 meters, the Valley is part of the Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve, a protected zone that includes both the Valley of Flowers and Nanda Devi National Park — together recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. During the monsoon, the valley transforms into a vibrant carpet of alpine flowers, home to rare birds, wildlife, and medicinal plants.
The trek begins at Govind Ghat, with a scenic 13 km walk to Ghangaria (3,500 m), the base village. From there, an 8 km trail leads into the heart of the valley, surrounded by floral meadows, flowing streams, and majestic peaks.
An optional route also leads to Hemkund Sahib, a sacred Sikh site by a glacial lake. The trail is peaceful yet lively, lined with fellow trekkers, pilgrims, and small local eateries — making it a meaningful and memorable journey for both parent and child.
