Group Road Biking Holiday in Turkey.
Our route takes in Freshwater Lakes, Sulphur Springs, visit to Turtle Sanctuary, Coastal Lagoons, Mountain Villages, a private boat trip across the bay of Göcek to Fethiye, lunch at a village home, Turkey’s longest Canyon, Hilltop Ancient Cities, Alpine-like mountain ascents, Village Homestay, UNESCO sites, sunset on a totally undeveloped 18 km Beach, visit the site of Patara, Roman capital of Lycia, ride the spectacular coast road to Kaş, the pearl of the Turquoise coast.
This bike tour visits Dalyan, Koycegiz, Sultaniye, Göcek,Fethiye, Minare, Saklikent, Tlos, Sutlegen, Patara, Kalkan and Kas.

– Total of 325 Km of riding over 6 days. Terrain is a good mix of flat, undulating and some days mountainous riding. Rides are do-able by any fit person of most ages.

Day 1 -Arrive in Turkey, Meet group in Dalyan.
Arrive in Dalyan, settle in, meet your leader and set up your bike.
If you arrive at a reasonable time optional visit to Kaunus Ancient City is possible, or an optional ride in this wildlife filled river delta.
Overnight in Hotel .
Day 2 - Ride around Koycegiz lake. Swimming availiable at Hot-Springs. - 65kms
A full day of riding around the large freshwater lake. Return to Dalyan at end. Overnight in Hotel.
The week starts the way it means to go on with a varied, beautiful and satisfying ride around the spectacular and undeveloped Koycegiz lake. We will have time to enjoy the hot springs at Sultaniye, before a boat back across the river to Dalyan. 65Km. There should be time for visit to the DEKAMER turtle sanctuary, where sick and injured turtles are helped back to health before release, this evening. Overnight in Hotel.
Day 3- Ride from Dalyan to Port Gocek. Private boat tour across Gulf of Fethiye with swimming stop
50km ride across lush plains interspersed with satisfying climbs and descents. Mara Hotel or similar.
Biking south through the wildlife rich floodplains to Sulungur Lake. Over the hill we go, to the plain of Dalaman, observing some Carian Rock Tombs on route. Taking the path less traveled, we climb into the hills, far away from the highway, dropping down to Göcek, where we get on to our private boat crossing the grand bay of Fethiye, with time for a swim on way! 50Km. Overnight in Fethiye.
Day 4- Ride from Fethiye to Saklıkent canyon - 55kms
55km along the Xanthos Valley. Stop for a typical village lunch on the way.
Take a tour of the theatre and tombs of Ancient Telmessos, before we ride into the hinterland of gentle but impressive scenery. We arrive in Minare, a village with a 3000 year history and have a the most delightful lunch of simple but perfectly balanced fresh flavours. We then cross the Xanthos Valley to Saklikent, one of the longest and deepest of the many canyons in the area.
Day 5 - The Queen Stage! Visit ancient Tlos home of Pegasus. Alpine riding to Sutlegen village.
A spectacular ride along some of the prettiest alpine roads of the area. Lots of climing but only 45km!
We either ride up to the ancient city of Tlos, perched overlooking the Xanthos valley, or jump on the bus to give us a head start! After an optional tour of Tlos, we cycle up through the villages which cling to the shoulders of Mt Akdag, which towers to 3000 meters. After having a well deserved and tasty lunch with a family who live in a rural idyll, we continue up to Sutlegen, to stay the night in a village home in this interesting market village.
Day 6 - Sutlegen - Xanthos - Patara. 50km<strong>. </strong>
Dropping from the high mountain we descend to the beach, taking in 2 major Ancient Cities en route.
Turning our backs to the mountains we descend to the coast again today, our long swooping descend is broken by tea stops and lunch in a trout farm, before the final descent to the UNESCO site at Xanthos, the original capital of the Lycians. We learn of the tragic events of this city and marvel at the artworks which remain, in spite of the finest being taken to the British Museum. We then cycle to the Roman Capital of Lycia, Patara, to marvel at the immaculately preserved parliament chamber, thought to be the mother of all federal parliaments. We end this long and satisfying day by cycling to Patara beach, watching the sun set over the 18Kms of untouched beach, we salute the day with a beer! 50Km riding. Overnight in Hotel.
Day 7 -Patara - Kas. 45kms.
Ride the most beautiful coastal road in Turkey, to the pearl of the the Turquoise Coast.
45kms along the coast to end the tour. Time in Kas for a Turkish Bath to soothe the muscules. Hotel with Pool.
We finish the week with a bike ride along the twisty coastal road crossing over canyons, and golden beaches, we salute the Greek islands just offshore, and learn the true meaning of Turquoise, in the sparking water below. We arrive in the stylish resort of Kas, in time for lunch on the town’s picturesque square. Our hotel has a pool and Turkish bath is waiting for you, perfect for relaxing your newly toned legs!
Day 8 - Trip ends - Departure
