Shilingjashai & Mawlynnong trek - Shillong

Situated in eastern part of India in the state of Meghalaya. Shilingjashai  is one of the offbeat trekking routes in India’s North East.

Surrounded by virgin beauty of nature, water falls etc. Mawlynnong is Asia’s cleanest village covered by greenery, trees, hills, wonderful nature. The village itself has a unique beauty. An altitude of 5000 feet msl.

The trek from Mawlynnong village to the gorgeous Umterming waterfall and then to the living cliff bridge and back takes about 6 hours. The distance covered is 14 kms

ITINERARY (Ex Guwahati) 

Day 1 : Guwahati – Shillong ( 4 hours approx.)
You will be welcomed by our tour manager at Guwahati Airport / Railway Station. Then we will directly go to Shillong also called as Scotland of East. Overnight in Shillong. ( Hotel)

Day 2 : Shillong – Mawlynnong ( 3 hours approx.)
After breakfast , we will move to Mawlynnong ( Asia’s cleanest village). En-route visit Elephaanta falls. It has three levels. The Khasi people had named it Three Steps Water Falls. Its name elephant falls was given by British. Because there was a rock by the side of fall which resembled Elephant. The rock was destroyed in earthquake in 1897. Also we will see Shillong peak from where you will have a wonderful Shillong town view.
Overnight in Mawlynnong. (Home stay or Tent ).

Day 3 : Trek to Shilingjashai ( 6 – 7 hours Approx.)
After early breakfast, we will start trekking for Shilingjashai around 8 a.m. It is one of the sensational places of Meghalaya. Trekkers love to explore this place because of it own versatile beauty. We will get many extra ordinary spots of nature  during the trek. Attractions : 1. Bamboo Hanging Bridge, 2. Living Cliff Bridge, 3 Living Root Bridge, 4. Umterming Water Fall where we will have our packed lunch. After taking some rest we will be back to the beautiful Mawlynnong Village. Overnight.  

Day 4: Trek around the village
After breakfast we will trek to see the breathtaking single Decker Living Root Bridge. After lunch we can see the village and their people, their living style etc. Overnight.

Day 5 : Mawlnnong – Guwahati ( 7 hours approx.)
After breakfast move to Guwahati. En-route visits Shankardev Kalakhetra. Check in hotel. Evening visit Kamakhya Temple. Overnight.

Day 6: After breakfast we will move to Guwahati Airport/ Railway Station for onward journey.

Cost in a group of 6 people : Rs. 25150/- , Cost in a group of 10 people : Rs. 22800/- (Ex Guwahati)
