Prateek Deo, Head of Life Away From Life, is an experienced, trained mountaineer and ardent traveler. He has gained his advanced training in mountaineering from the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI), Darjeeling.
His passion for nature, travel and adventure has manifested in Life Away From Life – a group of experienced professionals with a mission to enrich lives of children, youth and adults through specially designed trips and adventure programs. The group organizes various forms of adventure and travel programs - such as trekking and peak expeditions, cross-country cycling trips, adventure sports modules, jeep safaris, cultural tours, children’s adventure camps - throughout the year. Company’s focus is to blend the traditional adventure and leisure activities with an appreciation and concern for the environment, which indeed is the need of the hour.
Prateek believes that each one of us should not only give ourselves a chance to see a ‘life away from life’ - a chance to explore the little universes that exist in us, but also realize the important role one plays in the stewardship of our environment—both natural and manmade. Through treks & expeditions, ‘Life Away From Life’ wants to contribute to the lives of youth and adults, and, in turn, encourage them to contribute to the life around them. Adventure experience is essential to every person’s growth and education. While also working towards establishing ‘LAFL’ as a leading authority in youth development, Prateek has been working towards helping young minds grow into committed, responsible citizens by teaching them to respect and care for the world which they inhabit.
