"Hamta Pass trek"

Hamta Pass is situated at an altitude of about 4270 m, in Lahaul Valley over the Pir Panjal Range. On Pir Panjal Range, the Beas-Chenab watershed leads to the Hamta Pass.

The pass is an ideal base for trekking. It offers a magnificent view of the Deo Tibba and Indrasan peaks and their glaciers. The famous trekking site Chhika is situated below the Hamta Pass.

Life Away From Life plans an easily accesible trek ascending the verdant Hamta Valley and traversing the Pir Panjal range to Lahaul in the month of June 2010

Day 1.l reach Manali drive to Solang and then to Prini
Prini (1950m) to Sythen & Pandooroopa
3-4 hrs, 10km

Day 2. l Pandooroopa to Chikha (3270m)
3-4 hrs, 10km

Day 3 l Chikha to Balu ka Ghera (3700m)
3 hrs, 8km

Day 4 l Balu Ka Ghera to Siliguri via the Hamta Pass(4270m)
7 hrs, 15km

Day 5 l Siliguri to Chhatru
3hrs, 10km

Drive back to Solang and then to Manali
