Photography expedition to Leh ,Ladakh.
“There is a brief moment when all there is in a man's mind and soul and spirit is reflected through his eyes, his hands, his attitude. This is the moment to record.” - Yousuf Karsh

Life Away from Life plans an exclusive jeep safari across Ladakh for all aspiring-amateur photographers interested in experimental Travel Photography.

Ladakh is often called 'Little Tibet'. Since it is located north of the main Himalayan range, it receives little rainfall. The scenery is stark and dramatic - deep gorges, snow-capped mountains, contorted strata, beautiful Tibetan Buddhist monasteries, mud-brick houses in oasis-like villages and grand distances. The way of life in Ladakh shows us that another way of life -- a kinder and gentler one -- is possible.

Life Away From Life feels to step into a moonland! - Ladakh, in the months of May 2011 to September 2011

So all interested individuals simply grab your cameras (professional camera not required) and get the best opportunity to capture different aspects of Ladakh Himalayas in different forms and moods! We would travel into the realms of life capturing moments that finally make a good photograph.

Let us explore more about photography through informal discussions and practical experimentation during this unique Jeep safari across Ladakh.

On the way back to Leh, we visit the superbly situated, 16th century, Thiksey Gompa, which is perched on a hill top. The Gompa houses an important collection of Tibetan-style books, a huge Buddha statue and some excellent works of art.
