Trek to Dzongri & Guicha la
in the Sikkim Himalayas

Sikkim:
The Himalayan state of Sikkim was incorporated in to the INdion Union in 1975. Since then the Indian government has maintained tight control over its border regions with Tibet (China). While travel restrictions on the areas of north of gangtok haev been relaxed recently, the only area currently open to trekkers is in the vincinity of Yuksam in southern Sikkim.

Life Away From Life plans to trek through rhodondendron forests and across yak pastures to the snowcapped peaks and glaciers below the awesome summit of kanchenjunga, to Dzongri & Guicha La in the months of Oct/Nov/Dec 2010

Cost per person on twin sharing basis.

Includes :
Guest house without meals in Yuksam, all trekking arrangements like sleeping tents, kitchen and dinning tent, cook, helper, mountain guide, all meal during trek, horses to carry your luggage & sanctuary fees.

Cost not include
Stay in Darjeeling & Sikkim, travel fare to Sikkim and back , conveyance to Yuksam, extra expenses like drinks,tips,medical and travel insurance, video camera fee, beverages etc.

Day 1.l Yuksam (1760m) to Tsokha (2750m)

Day 2 l Tshoka to Dzongri (4020m)
2-3 hrs, 7km

Day 3 l Dzongri stay (4020m)

Day 4 l Dzongri to Thansing (3930m)

Day 5 l Thansing to Samiti lake(4020m)
2-3 hrs, 7km

Day 6 l Samiti lake to Guicha La ( 4940m) and return to Thansing (3930m)
7-8 hrs, 18km

Day 7 l Thansing to Tsokha (3050m)
6-7 hrs, 17km

Day 8 l Tsokha to Yuksam
5-6 hrs, 18km
