I always wanted to motorcycle into Bhutan from India.
The whole experience of crossing international border is something else. (My first being entering Tanzania from Kenya).
Since, we at Life Away From Life ( LAFL) have planned an awesome trip to Bhutan , I took this opportunity to motorcycle from Siliguri into Bhutan and then the interiors.
My journey will commence on the 6th of Oct 2016 from Siliguri. I invite anyone who is interested.
During this journey I plan to do the following:
Bike ride, trekking (The Druk Path trek), lots of sightseeing ( also Tigers Nest Monastery), and drink loads of chai.
I plan to ride the good ole’ 500cc Bullet.
Permits arrangements have been done at the border by our local agent Bhutan Merit Travel.
The brief biking itinerary of mine would be:
- Siliguri to Pheuntsholing
- Phuentsholing to Paro
- Paro and around sightseeing
- Druk path trek 3 days
- Paro to Thimpu
- Thimpu and around sightseeing
- Thimpu to Gelephu exit
- back to Siliguri.
The idea of this ride is to experience more of Bhutan Culture, their cuisine, their mountains, their people and of course their chai ….
